The most recent award is a Guest Review Award from Booking.com, which has resulted in guests rating the business as highly impressive 9.9 out of 10 for 2018. In addition, several guests have nominated Glenshieling House for the Visit Scotland Scottish Thistle Awards for the last two years running.

As of August 2019, the business has been granted planning permission to install two timber-framed Roundhouse buildings and change of use of land to extend the luxury B&B business. By being granted planning permission to install the two eco-friendly, sustainable Roundhouse buildings on the raised garden area at the rear of the main house, new owners would be in a terrific position to tap into the ever growing demand for this type of self-catering accommodation. Each unit would sleep two and have been designed to incorporate a drying-room (which doubles up as a boiler cupboard) one double bedroom, an en-suite shower and toilet, a fully functioning kitchen including a ceramic hob, fridge and plumbed in sink, a wood burning stove, good insulation, space for a sofa and dining table and chairs.
